The Complainterator

October 8, 2008 is the release of version 22.5 featuring a simpler contacts file and a domain name obfuscater to ensure mail delivery to registrars with spam filters. Timeouts were extended to allow for slower response time on DNSStuff.com

Previous news (April 2008) - Complainterator Version 21.0

The former support site (thecarpcstore.com/phpbb2) was taken off-line to thwart a massive DDoS attack.

Support is now relocated to Complainterator support on Castlecops

Version 21 included a feature to avoid generating requests for any of the top 100 registrars to remove their own name servers.

Version 20 of Complainterator addressed the support for a Complainterator token.

Up until version 16, Complainterator relied on the excellent resources of DNSStuff. This is a resource for performing

(a) web-based whois lookups to determine who is the registrar for each domain used by spammers

(b) web-based "traversals" to determine the current name server domains used to resolve access to spammed web sites

In late September, DNSStuff made a modification requiring a specific Complainerator token to be used to access its resources directly. Complainterator Version 20 supports this change.

Anyone using earlier versions should upgrade immediately.
